Setting it up is pretty straightforward. In this tutorial, I’m going to guide you through just that. So, let’s jump right in and get started.

Note: This works for Linux and Windows too.

Step 1. Get an OpenAI API key

First, we need to get a new OpenAI API key. Sign up for an OpenAI account if you don’t have one, else just log in to your account.

Look for the ‘USER’ section, then click on ‘API keys‘.

Next, create a new secret key by clicking ‘+ Create new secret key‘.

Keep a copy of this API key as we’ll need it later.

Step 2. Install Homebrew

Next, we will need to install Homebrew. Homebrew help makes installing other stuff we need in later stage easy.

To install Homebrew, head over to the Homebrew’s website. There, you’ll find a line of code under the section ‘Install Homebrew‘.

Or, you can also use the following code. Copy it, then go to your Terminal, paste it in, and hit Enter.

With AIChat now installed, the next step is to configure it. Since we’re assuming this is your first time setting it up, you’ll need to provide the following, in sequence, for the configuration.

• Enter “y” to create a new config file
• Paste in your API key.
• Enter “y” if you don’t want to use Proxy. (You normally won’t need it.)
• Enter “y” if you want to save all chat messages, else, just hit “n”.

An editable version of the config file will be created and it can be found at the following location shall you want to make any changes later:

AUTOMATIC1111 (also known as A1111) Stable Diffusion WebUI is a more advanced graphical user interface (GUI) that gives you more control and customization options. In this guide, we’ll show you how to install and use AUTOMATIC1111 on your Mac.

So, open up your Terminal app and let’s begin.

Step 1 – Install Homebrew

Before we proceed, we need to install Homebrew on your Mac. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can do so by copying and pasting the following command into your Terminal and pressing enter. This will install Homebrew on your system.

Step 2 – Install Other Packages

To run Stable Difussion using AUTOMATIC1111, you’ll need a model as well. You can download the v1.5 model of Stable Diffusion by going to this page, or directly from the link below. Keep in mind that the file size of this model is over 4GB, so it may take some time to download.

To run AUTOMATIC1111, copy and paste the following command in Terminal. Keep in mind that this may take some time to run for the first time, as there are additional packages that need to be installed.

When you see something like the screenshot below in your Terminal, it means AUTOMATIC1111 has been successfully launched.

Step 7 – Access Stable Diffusion on Browser

To access the AUTOMATIC1111 GUI, open a web browser and navigate to the following URL: http://127.0.0.1:7860/. Once you arrive at this page, you will be greeted with the AUTOMATIC1111 user interface.

Step 8 – Test It!

To test whether AUTOMATIC1111 is working properly, navigate to the “txt2img” tab on the GUI. From there, enter a prompt such as “cute french bulldog puppy” and click the “Generate” button.

ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement torch==1.12.1 (from versions: 2.0.0)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for torch==1.12.1

This error occurs while the system is trying to install additional packages at the beginning stage of executing the cd ~/stable-diffusion-webui;./webui.sh command.

Solution:

When trying to run AUTOMATIC1111, you may encounter an error that indicates it requires Torch version 1.12.1 instead of the latest version 2.0.0. While it is possible to use an older version of Torch to resolve this issue, the process can be complicated. Instead, a simpler solution is to reinstall Python (which solves the problem for me). If you encounter this problem, you can try the following commands, in sequence:

brew uninstall python3
brew install python3

After completing the reinstallation of Python, run the same command again by typing it into the Terminal.

cd ~/stable-diffusion-webui;./webui.sh

Error #2

stderr: ERROR: Could not install packages due to an OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/us/local/dev. txt'
Consider using the - -user option or check the permissions

This is an error that you might encounter towards the end of executing the command: cd ~/stable-diffusion-webui;./webui.sh.

If you see a Git version, it means Git has been successfully installed.

3. Install Python

Now, we need to install Python on your Mac. Follow the steps below to install Python:

In the Terminal, paste the following command and press enter:

Once it’s finished, paste the following command into the Terminal and hit Enter.

If it returns a version of Python, it indicates a successful installation.

4. Install Auto-GPT

Launch your favorite code editor and open the file named “.env.template” inside the Auto-GPT folder.

Look for the following line:

OPENAI_API_KEY=your-openai-api-key

Replace your-openai-api-key with your API key, enclosed in double quotes (“”). It should look something like the following:

In this post, we will tell you how to enable Microsoft Edge to open in a drive window each time we launch it. For this, we need first to create a shortcut and alter it with some parameters of its default settings, just like we’ve previously done it with Chrome. Let’s take a look.

Windows Users

Step 1

Launch File Explorer, and navigate to ProgramData > Microsoft > Windows > Start Menu > Programs. Or, you can also paste the following path directly in File Explorer to get directly to the intended destination.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Step 2

Right-click once on the Microsoft Edge shortcut and select "Properties".

Step 3

Inside “Target:”, go to the end of the line, hit space once, then insert “-inprivate” with the quotes.

This will change the default:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe"

Into becoming:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" -inprivate

Step 4

Now, click “OK”, follow by “Continue” to confirm your changes.

Your Edge browser should always open in InPrivate mode (by default) every time you launch it.

Mac Users

And for those who have Microsoft Edge installed on your macOS, here’s how to open it in InPrivate mode by default.

Step 1

Launch Spotlight, search for and open the Script Editor app.

Step 2

Click “New Document” and paste the following codes inside.

do shell script "open -a /Applications/Microsoft\\ Edge.app -n --args --inprivate"

Next, save the file by going to File > Save, or hit the shortcut Command + S.

Select “Desktop” for “Where:”, “Application” for “File Format:” and then hit the "Save" button. What happens here is that an executable file that opens Edge in InPrivate mode will be created on your Desktop.

Step 3

To ensure it works, double-click the executable file and see if it opens up Edge in InPrivate mode.

Step 4

Now, let’s add an icon to the executable we created and move it to the Dock.

Launch Finder, the Microsoft Edge app installed on your Mac; right-click and select “Get Info”.

Next, do a “Get Info” on the executable file and put the two dialogue boxes side by side, see the screenshot below for reference.

Now, left-click once on the Edge logo, do a Command + C to copy its logo, then click the executable file’s logo and hit Command + V.

This will give the executable file a nice-looking Edge logo.

Last but not least, drag it onto the Dock.

Step 1

First, we need to locate where Opera is in the Windows files system. By default, the app should be inside C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Programs.

Step 2

Right-click on the Opera app and then select “Show more options”

Step 3

In the expanded menu, select “Create shortcut” and rename the created shortcut to “Opera Browser”.

Step 4

Right-click on the created shortcut and select "Properties".

Step 5

Inside “Target:”, go to the end of the line, add a space, follow by “--private” without quotes, and then hit “OK”.

In short, we are replacing the following:

"C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\opera.exe"

with one that includes a space and the parameter --private.

"C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\opera.exe --private"

Step 6

Double-click the Opera shortcut created to see if it opens up an Opera browser in Private mode, which it should.

And if all works, you can now drag it down to the Taskbar so it opens up in Private mode every time you launch it.

Mac Users

Step 1

Open the Script Editor app. You can search for it via Spotlight or find it inside /System/Applications/Utilities.

Step 2

In Script Editor, select “New Document” and paste the following code inside.

do shell script "open -a /Applications/Opera.app -n --args --private"

Then go to File > Save (Command + S) to save the file. Select “Desktop” for “Where:”, “Application” for “File Format:”. Hit the "Save" button when done. This will create an executable file that opens Opera in Private mode on your Desktop.

Step 3

Double-click the executable file you just created; it should open up Opera in Private mode by default.

Step 4

Finally, let’s add an icon to the executable file so it looks nicer when added to the Dock.

Open Finder, and look for the Opera app installed on your Mac, right-click, and select “Get Info”.

Next, “Get Info” on the executable file you just created, and position the two dialogue boxes side by side, like the screenshot below.

Now, left-click once on the Opera logo, then do a Command + C to copy its logo, then click the executable file’s logo and hit Command + V. This will copy the Opera logo over.

Finally, go ahead and drag it onto your Dock!
